Program Description

When: 3-hours/week for 9-weeks

Where: In the comfort of your own home or your private workspace, live online Zoom platform

You are invited to join this powerful 9-week series (includes a retreat) that explores mindful self-compassion through topic education, experiential exercises, informal practices, and group discussion. Mindfulness and selfcompassion can be learned by anyone. No previous meditation, mindfulness or compassion practice is required.

Any individual wishing to lift your heart in caring ways, relate to self and others with understanding, strengthen valuable inner resources, and support resilience through challenges in life is encouraged to sign up (e.g. health care providers, social workers, service employees, etc.)

Research supports learning the skills and tools of mindful self-compassion can increase ability to:

  • Improve emotional well-being and maintenance of healthy habits/lifestyle choices
  • Motivate self with kindness rather than criticism
  • Handle difficult experiences with more ease
  • Manage caregiver fatigue and reduce burnout
  • Practice the art of savoring and self-appreciation
  • Enhance relationships, beginning with self and extending to others, while decreasing anxiety and stress

About Your Course Instructor

Sondra Gudmundson, MS Counseling Psychology, is a trained teacher of Mindful Self-Compassion through the Centers for Mindful Self Compassion. She aspires to help others meet difficulties in life with love and to facilitate opening the door to their heart with greater ease. She is a graduate of both Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Programs, having trained with MSC co-founders Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff.

Sondra has 3 decades clinical healthcare experience as a nutrition therapist, intuitive eating counselor, and Registered Dietitian, and has been nourishing physical wellness while combining contemplative science in a mindful eating approach throughout her career.

During the past 5 years Sondra has taught in higher education, with both BSU and UND. She is a speaker and teacher of self-compassion and has led well received workshops at the local, regional, and state level. Her approach is to cultivate well-being and resilience through mindful awareness, self-compassion, and gratitude. Sondra’s intentional career redesign focus is to offer lifecare nourishment with LOVE to guide.
