Program Requirements & Equipment
Required Equipment or Supplies: Students will need access to grooming tools such as clippers, shears, brushes, and safety equipment. The Dog Grooming Academy & Salon will provide these for use during the course and students will have the opportunity to purchase these materials upon completing the course.
Pre-Course Skills & Expectations: Essential skills for success in this program include a passion for animals, good interpersonal communication, attention to detail, patience, and a willingness to learn. No prior dog grooming experience is required.
Additional Considerations: Students should be prepared for both indoor and outdoor work environments and should have the stamina to handle a physically demanding job. Additionally, grooming professionals must be able to work with a variety of dog breeds and maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with pet owners.
